18 May 2008 Here is some of the feedback: Thank you for the pdf version of the publication on nutrition gardens. It is a good achievement to have this publication. I am the National Coordinator of the organisation called Schools and Colleges Permaculture (SCOPE) Programme, Zimbabwe It is nice to hear of another gardening in schools book. I wonder whether you know of the FAO publication, which is very well researched, especially in developing countries and covers very interesting aspects. If not I advise you to contact FAO or their website for a copy [see www.fao.org/schoolgarden]. Charles Sekyewa, Uganda I wish to thank you for putting together the much-needed knowledge on school gardening and for making the download available. We are involved in training primary school pupils on kitchen gardening and this book will form an important reference in addition to what we are using. Currently we are specializing in cultural food crops. Daniel Wanjma, Organic Farm Solutions, Kenya I have recently downloaded Seed to Seed and think your endeavours are wonderful - I would very much like to use your materials to promote similar activities here in Canada - I am an interested citizen (retired educator). I write to applaud your book Seed To Seed - Food Gardens in Schools. Also to thank you for your generosity in putting it up on the site for free download as a pdf. I was interested in it as I am a volunteer establishing a no-dig plot in the grounds of some Melbourne high-rise flats. Part of the project is to show migrant kids where food comes from, food that is prepared and served to them weekday afternoons by volunteers. Your insights into health and safety and general care issues were most valuable to me and will lead to others being very careful about the management of young excursions to the plot. I hope that you allowing a preview will boost sales of paper copies. But for the moment, simply thanks and good on you! Ian Baker, Melbourne Thanks so much and keep up the good work " the schools we are working with are loving your new publication Zanni Waldstein Project Officer, Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation Gould League: We provide the web link to all our schools. It is a great resource for all schools. Jodie Robison, Multicultural School Gardens project Some copies were donated to projects, such as The Point Preschool at Oyster Bay and Dr Cary Rasof in Zambia. The book is available for free as a downloadable coloured pdf on our website, www.seedsavers.net and as a black and white book for $20 post paid from Seed Savers. See order form on page 26.
